RETAIL DESIGN PROJECT
BMGT458A - Design and Innovation in Marketing

Won "Business Most Likely to Succeed"
Branding
Objective
Create a brick and mortar retail concept for the College Park area. Conduct primary and secondary research to identify a target market and their needs. Use this research to create customer personas and a journey map. Create a brand identity, product mix, advertising and promotional plan, financial model projected over three years, and interior and exterior renderings of the retail store. Present a 20 minute pitch to a panel of professionals.
Challenges
It was difficult to decide on our retail concept, as our team had many different ideas, each with its own limitations. We also wanted to serve customers late night, as there is a large market with little competition, but staying open late comes with safety and cleaning concerns.
Solution
We decided to create 1856, Crepe Place which can operate from a window late at night.
My Role
I worked with my teammates to develop our concept, create and distribute a survey for primary research, conduct secondary research, and assist on our merchandise. I contributed to our marketing and advertising plan including the grand opening and continued engagement. I created menu and poster mock-ups, and helped with the social media designs.
